An essay is required.  It should represent your best writing ability and reflect your thoughts, opinions, and ideas.  The essay may be a graded paper from an assignment or one of your own design.

Once your application and essay are received, they will be reviewed by a faculty committee.  Information from your application for admission will be collected as well.  While reviewing your application, faculty will consider your grade point average, curriculum, class rank, essay,m and standardized test scores.  The committee meets monthly to review Honors Program applications.  Therefore, you should be notified of an admission decision within a month or two after submitting your application.

Current UE students may also apply for admission to the Honors Program.  It is best to apply before the end of the sophomore year to allow enough time to complete the Program requirements.  Current students should complete the Honors Program application, provide an essay, and submit a letter of recommendation from an academic advisor or professor.
